Mission Statement (Alternative Provision)

The school’s aim is to provide re-engagement with education for pupils who have been permanently excluded, who are ‘at risk’ of exclusion, from mainstream schools.

LLSOM provide short term placements and courses with a view to pupils returning to mainstream schools, together with longer term placements designed to prepare pupils for further education, traineeships, apprenticeships, and employment.

Our aim is to enable pupils to achieve the schools’ requirements with a newfound confidence and self-esteem to make positive choices in future.

Bronze Arts Award

The Arts Award qualifications are designed to inspire learners aged 11 – 25 to grow their arts and leadership talents.

Its aim is to support and encourage learners of all levels, abilities, backgrounds, and cultures to engage and participate in the arts.

Through transformative and adaptive music education, the qualification offers a variety of ways to approach creative and wider skills development that can be tailored to the centre, and our learners.

Arts Award provides the opportunity to achieve a national qualification that will build confidence through nurturing their individual interests, while equipping them with life skills that will support their education and future employment.

To achieve the qualification, learners take on challenges in an art form, participate in arts activities, experience arts events, gain inspiration from industry experts and share their skills and knowledge with others. They create a portfolio to record their creative work and progression, with support, advice, and guidance from our teaching team.

Included in our Arts Award programmes are added value sessions which introduce important aspects of the sector to our learners. These could include: DJing, music production, event management, music industry, design, and health and wellbeing. This holistic approach to delivery fused with a large array of engaging lessons will lead to learners becoming more well-rounded individuals within the music, events, and arts industries.
