Lisa Lashes School of Music is the brainchild of Lisa Lashes and Deborah Hewitt who met in 2018 by chance, at a music workshop for young people in Lisa’s hometown. This led to the creation of the first free school as funding was secured within 7 weeks and delivery to the first cohort was established within 3 months. 

By intertwining their knowledge of the education system and the music industry, they were destined for a ground-breaking collaboration of opportunity for children, and indeed adults, of all levels of society.

Our Experience

From experience, both professional and personal, of working with young people that have found themselves disillusioned in some Mainstream School scenarios, re-engaging can be challenging for a variety of reasons for any child, let alone their ability. Simply trying to reshape or recreate the same model that has been rejected, will often prove unsuccessful and could set them up with further failure, with lasting effects.

Our Approach

We create a safe, inclusive environment where pupils can feel valued, supported, and nurtured to create, learn and thrive. We aim that every pupil will gain confidence, self esteem, understanding, and personal growth. All, whilst helping them to develop knowledge, skills, and even memories, that will last a lifetime.

Meet the founders

Both Deborah, who has vast knowledge and experience in the education & training sector, and Lisa, an award-winning international DJ, have always had a shared passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people through education and creativity.
